Well hello everyone. I love you all so much thank you for all your wonderful
support. well as I said to some of you good news....
MYLES IS GETTING BAPTIZED MARCH 1ST. YAH!!!! I am so excited for him. He really has changed a ton! When we first met him he wasn't the most friendly of characters, and now he is one of the happiest things I have found. He has one of the best hearts and a hard life. But I am so happy for him. He saw the bishop the other day, and he actually told him that the missionaries just came at the right time, and that he was genuinely happier than he has been in a long time. He is great. So there is no greater joy than that... read Alma 26 or D&C 18 just about how exquisite the joy is in bringing the gospel to someones life. So thank you all for praying that someones heart would be softened and that they would have a desire to be baptized. So it will be a great day! Start the month of march off right!
The work is progressing and it is going to be a very happy day. We also have a couple other investigators who are moving nicely. wahoo! I love the gospel. And I love having Sister Dietrich here with us. So I have been learning german, I can count from one to ten. It is an accomplishment, and she really has amazing study
insights that I love to hear. So the more the merrier I guess. Well sort of.. it
started out rough but has gotten so good. AND tomorrow is Zone Conference so it is going to be so nice to have that chance to hear from President Morgan, the assistants, zone leaders, and district leaders. but honestly one of my favorite parts is the testimony meeting...wow... the spirit just soars through that meeting. I love the gospel. And I am so happy here. The members are starting to see the vision and actually giving us referrals, we get fed well...and I really feel loved. I am excited for the chance I have to serve. What a blessing. Sometime I think what blinders I must have on compared to the Lord, because I see such a small part of the picture. I often think of the potential we as missionaries have to become better, but also the potential our Father in Heaven must see in our investigators. I am always so impressed by those who make such a concentrated effort to find the Lord and act upon the truth when the recognize it. Myles has had to overcome smoking, coffee, drinking, and eating meat sparingly. But every commitment we leave with him he accepts whether it is hard or not, he has complete trust that we will teach him correctly so the things we ask him to do he does. And I wonder if I would have done what they do. We asked him to write down his 10 favorite things we have taught him, so in essence his testimony. I am excited to hear it. and even after hearing all the commandments he has to live by... all he said was, "thats not too bad". wow. I am humbled by his sincerity, and faith to act on some of these commandments he doesn't understand. Maybe, someday I can show that great faith in something too. Well, I just wanted to tell you the good news. and I will be sure to send pictures home, because it is going to be a special day. Oh yah, we had FHE with Myles at a
Members home and we talked about the priesthood. We talked about some of the
different responsibilities of holding it, I think he is excited to be able to be a part of it. It was such an amazing lesson, and I know that he felt the wonderful spirit that comes from being in a members home, and having that priesthood authority. It was a very good week, and the best is yet to come.
I love you. Thank you for your support and love. I miss you, but know that I am happy and I always tell stories from home. Have a great week. And maybe look for
an opportunity to tell one simple fact about our church to someone who isn't a member so that they are actually getting true information.
Love, Sister North
